I started painting during my school. I was a bright student yet very shy and introvert who would never express her feelings anywhere. Although I was well aware of my introverted nature, yet I always wanted to express myself and let world know about my capabilities.
It was during an art class where we were asked to draw our village and students were to be selected for an upcoming art competition and eventually for the school art team. Everyone drew their villages and unfortunately I didn’t get in. My friends took part in competitions and many of them even won prizes.
This incident ignited a fire in my belly and I wanted to get in the art team of my school. I work really hard that my teacher could notice it within a few weeks. One day when I was passing by the meeting of the art team, he called me and asked me ‘will be interested in joining us? ‘ It was the ‘EUREKA’ moment for me.
I joined the team and subsequently painted for school, for competition and even once won a silver medal in all India competition.

This process continued and despite being brilliant at every subject I took arts out of my passion. It helped me seep into the world of imagination where I could be all by myself. It gave me a way to express and really helped me learn things faster.
In my incredible academic journey, art has played a huge role. My teacher used to say that in theory you have to learn the concept and memories things, however if u imagine them instead just like art, you’ll never forget. It still works for me and help me utilise the best in me
